Starting the week of March 22, challenges have been added to the Vow of the Disciple raid, which comes with Destiny 2: The Witch Queen.

Challenges will rotate through the raid’s encounters on a week-by-week basis, starting with the first encounter, Acquisition, and its Swift Destruction challenge. In this Destiny 2 guide, we’ll go over the hidden objective for Swift Destruction and some strategies for completing it.

The challenge objective

To complete the Swift Destruction challenge, you’ll need to kill the set of three Unstoppable Abomination Champions within five seconds of each other. You’ll get one wave of the three champions per phase of the encounter, with each Obelisk defender responsible for one Unstoppable Champion.

If you need a refresher on the encounter or raid itself, you can follow our Vow of the Disciple raid guide and walkthrough.

How to complete it

The problem with this challenge, and what makes it difficult, is that the three Champions don’t always spawn at the same time. So to succeed, some players are going to have to deal with a Champion without killing it for long stretches of time.

While players can just wait until all three Champions are up and then count down for a triple kill, we used a different strategy.

Each Obelisk defender needs to have an Unstoppable weapon, and keep their Champion perpetually stunned until it’s time to put the Obelisk code in. Enter the code like normal, and then use the brief moment of quiet during the fight to kill the Champions. Everyone should count down to sync up their stuns and kills. Keep an eye on the game’s kill feed to check when everyone’s Champion is both stunned and killed, and to ensure that “Challenge Failed” doesn’t pop up.

Do this for the first two rounds. For the third and final phase, you can let them despawn with the rest of the enemies and still get credit for the challenge.

If you’ve completed the Challenge correctly, you’ll get two loot chests instead of one.
